Job Description
The Community Planner evaluates and recommends programs and development plans for new construction, renovation, and improvements of real property facilities, including utility systems. This position is responsible for validating new project requirements against the Installation Development Plan and managing the supporting sub-component plans.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide community planning services including site and facility information support.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the Installation Development Plan (IDP) and related plans.
- Lead updates and planning activities related to IDP and District Plans.
- Participate in project design reviews and activities related to planning actions.
- Coordinate with the installation GeoBase office to maintain approved siting data.
- Prepare and coordinate waiver packages for airfield criteria.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, urban planning, community development, or a related field.
- At least four years of experience in planning and site planning.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
- Knowledge of various computer programs required (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Extensive working knowledge of AutoCAD 2025 or newer version.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. Long hours and exposure to hazardous conditions may be required.
